PEER MINISTRY
If you are passionate about deepening your own faith through taking on a leadership role at St. Martin's we invite you to consider becoming a Peer Minister.
We look forward to entering a mutual discernment together to explore the potential of our ministry together.
QUALIFICATIONS
Peer ministers should first and foremost have a growing faith in Christ and a desire to share the love of God with students at the University of Arkansas. Additionally, they will:

As a Peer Minister you serve about 5-10 hours in a typical week. Incoming freshman students are not eligible to apply. Expectations include:

QUALIFICATIONS
Peer ministers should first and foremost have a growing faith in Christ and a desire to share the love of God with students at the University of Arkansas. Additionally, they will:
- agree to work in the tradition of Christianity as the Episcopal Church / ELCA understands and practices it;
- be currently enrolled as a student in good standing at University of Arkansas or community college;
- be able to articulate their evolving Christian faith and reasons for commitment to Episcopal / ELCA campus ministry.
REQUIREMENTS
As a Peer Minister you serve about 5-10 hours in a typical week. Incoming freshman students are not eligible to apply. Expectations include:
- Participate in once a month Peer Ministry Team meetings including any preparatory reading / assignments.
- Attend weekly "Huddles" with Peer Ministry Team on Thursdays before or after small groups (time TBD based on team availability)
- Attend (at least one) weekly program, including regular attendance of worship
- Participate in Center Work Days, typically 1 Saturday per semester
- Assist with on-campus evangelism at least twice per semester (i.e. tabling in the union, activities fairs, etc.)
- Invite other students, be welcoming and hospitable to all program guests
All Peer Ministers will:
- Take online Safeguarding God’s Children and People training;
- Undergo a criminal background check and sex offender registry check.
Peer Ministers will sign a covenant commitment to serve in the capacity described above for the semester.
