FAQs

Who are we?

We are an Episcopal campus ministry. The Episcopal Church and the people in it, called Episcopalians, are one of many Christian denominations. We are also in communion with the Lutheran Church (ELCA).

We are followers of Jesus learning to live in alignment with the gospel. For us, the gospel of Jesus is good news and is inclusive, liberating, and life giving.

We are a community that welcomes people of all faith traditions or no faith tradition, all races and ethnicities, all genders, and all sexualities. Whoever you are and wherever you are on your journey of faith, you are welcome here!

What do we do?

We join in worship, fellowship, and study. We have weekly offerings for dinner, Eucharist, and small group reflection. Gatherings for fellowship, fun, and service are added to our calendar throughout the semester.

Why do we do this?

University marks a time of life transition, whether you are in undergrad or graduate school. A faith community helps to provide something stable and consistent throughout our lives and can be especially important in times of newness and growth. St. Martin’s works to provide community, affirmation, and love.

Of course, our biggest “why” is our faith in God. We believe that worship and fellowship are ways to engage our faith, to learn about God, and to be with God’s people.

Where do I start?

You are welcome to join us at any of our gatherings. Feel free to jump right in! Come for Tuesday services and/or dinner. Come to St. Paul’s for a meal and worship on Sunday or Wednesday. You can talk with us more before coming to St. Martin’s if that would help you feel more comfortable.
